This weekend was almost perfect – I helped set off a firework display with 5 or 6 other people for an audience of about 30 people. It has become a bit of an annual event now, ever since my brother did one for about seven friends in 2000. That year he had about ?40 of fireworks, this year we collected about ?500 and with a discount we ended up with about ?600 of fireworks. After the post display celebrations in the pub I realised the clouds had cleared and was able to watch the lunar eclipse, the first I have seen for several years.
Finally, on Sunday, England beat Wales in the Rugby World Cup. I have to admit to supporting both sides, and thought that Wales deserved to win, with England being too dependent on the kicking of one player.
Not perfect? the only thing missing is that B is about 4 countries away, studying in Prague and I was unable to share this weekend with her.
