… ask me what I’m thinking.
The Thought Project by Simon Høegsberg has a simple premise:
Over a period of 3 months I stopped 150 strangers on the street and asked them what they were thinking about the second before I stopped them [...] All quotes state exactly what was said during the interviews.
My favorite reply has to be No. 53:

Ok, well, did you see the blind guy that walked that way? I looked at him, and was thinking: Hmmm… That would be an interesting way to get away with a crime – to just walk away with a walking-blind-stick, and like, let the cops swarm around you, and no one would ever thing it was you. Not because I want to commit a a crime, but I was, like, hmmm, if I ever did want to commit a crime that would be a cool way to get away with it. I don’t do crimes, but hah, I was just thinking about this in general. But it would be a splendid idea, but… I don’t know. I was thinking about looting or something like that – maybe, like, robbing someone and then walking away like your a blind guy, having, like, one of the retractable walking stick in your pant pocket and just going on your merry way with a bag full of cash.

It reminds me of when I was sitting outside Toronto railway station and was accosted by a bunch of students who filmed my response to the question ‘what is the truth?’1 I wonder how they got on with their project? If it hadn’t been in ’96 maybe I would have appeared on a similar site somewhere.

Like you, I really like this idea. I have been going to the project for a little while now and it seems to be constantly changing. I find it to be a good to just drop in and let go of the daily grind. I like that kind of thing on the Net.
I hadn’t realised they kept changing, though the site does mention 150 interviews. I will add 53′s response to the entry for posterity.
