Since my employer has decided to pay me more than I got before, I have pretty much decided that it is high time that I ditch my 56k dial up service. So far, the criteria identified are:
- Around 512k, I’m not that bothered about getting a 1Mb service. Downloading a file in 4 seconds instead of 8 is neither here nor there.
- More than 1Gb/ month limit.
- Mac compatible. I’ve found the small print often requires upgrading to a more expensive service (BT) or buying a different modem.
- Reliable with decent customer support.
Suggestions welcome.

http://www.adslguide.org.uk/ is a good site.
I’ve been with Zen and now F2s – can’t complain about either, though Zen carried the binary ng’s which I always found useful
SK hates me
Not sure why your first comment got eaten, though it was only parked in the db so was easily resurected
. Thanks for the link, looks to be just what I was looking for.
I used Virgin broadband and loved it – £15 for 3gig limit, 512k, and no annual contract. They worked well for me and never had any problems.
I use Wanadoo now (moved in to a place with it), i think it’s £18 for a 2 gig limit, 1m, and an annual contract – it’s also very good.
