# See the northern lights
Seen them a few times having lived in Northumberland during my teen years. The best one – it was like upside down curtains shooting up into the sky. Green, vibrant and absolutely amazing.
I had hopes when I spent 4 years in Sheffield, but there was always too much light pollution (or rain). Guess I will just have to go and sit on an ice floe in northern Norway.
“As if by magic, the shopkeeper appeared Is that a Mr Benn reference?
And what on earth is clart? Enquiring minds would like to know
It certainly is. I saw the DVD in the shops recently, complete with a recently found 13th episode.
Clart is generally used when I need a mildly insulting (in traditional English style) greeting.
Defn:- ‘To daub, smear, or spread, as with mud’ (especially slightly thick mud). Though recently hijacked for other meanings by GLC).
