With the release of the Macbook1 Apple have finally killed off the G4 processor (though unfortunately not the the vile x-factor freaks).
I was surprised at the specs, I had thought they would be 1.66 and 1.83GHz chips, but faster is always a good thing. Interestingly I have seen a few notes stating that the hard drive is as easy to replace as the RAM, so home-upgrades may well be the way forwards.
I shall not be upgrading for the foreseeable future, my trusty iBook is still doing sterling service and hopefully will for a time yet. It is good to see the future looks reasonable though.
- I still think the name sucks ↑
