The scrolling trackpad is, in a word, genius. One finger on the pad controls the cursor (as normal) , add a second finger and you get up-down/ left-right scrolling. Also you get ‘context click’ with two fingers and the trackpad button.
From an ergonomics perspective, infinately better than a most-of-the-time redundant second button. I always find myself cocking my wrist to hit the right button on the last Windows laptop I used (or the even worse one hand on the pad, the other on the buttons I have seen some people use).
With this setup, I use my middle finger normally and add my ring finger when needed, no undue movement or funny wrist positions. Most of the Apple laptops have this feature now, older iBook and PowerBook users can use iScroll2 and 15″
