Today I brought my .mp3 cd’s in to work (I hadn’t been able to listen to it in the other office since the IT Stasi wouldn’t let me install WinAmp). After installing it and listening to about an hour of music I noticed a couple of people giving me strange looks. Taking my headphones out, I discovered that pluging them in hadn’t stopped the PC’s internal speaker from working, and I was treating my collegues to Bill Hicks insulting Tennessee:-
“In many parts of our troubled world, people are yelling ‘Revolution, revolution’. In Tenessee they are yelling ‘Evolution, evolution’.”.
Luckily a few panicked minutes of messing with the volume settings sees to have worked, or at least got the speaker volume low enough to be lost on the noise of the cooling fan.
