I don’t know, You take a few days out and everything kicks off:

  1. WP1.5 ‘Strayhorn’ is released.
  2. The company that sacked my brother have decided to royally screw him over so he will get no job-seekers pay for the next three months.
  3. My staff appraisal puts me two grades higher than I am (or bizarrely, one grade below where I started 3 ½ years ago), yet I am not regraded.
  4. Referrer-spamming scum make a mess of my access logs.
  5. I get called by a headhunting company.

I haven’t been away per se, I found that messing with WP was a pretty good way to stop myself hiding in the dark and keep my brain occupied.

So, to that end, I have upgraded to v1.5 ‘Strayhorn’ and redone my layout with lots of nice new code. The bit I am happiest with (if it works) is the new photoblog section, which should mean I can post straight from iPhoto [with Photon1], and all the drop-shadows, thumbnails etc are done automatically2.

1 Except that with WP1.5, Photon refuses to put posts anywhere but the general category.
2 WP1.5 allows lots of stuff like ‘if’ statements, so that with a little thought, you can turn it into your very own performing monkey. Lots of info here.
